All RTC buses have bike racks on the front that can hold up to two bicycles.
Before the bus arrives
- Remove loose items (like water bottles or bags) from your bike
- Be ready to load your bike quickly when the bus pulls up
- Make eye contact with the driver so they know you plan to use the rack
Loading your bike
- Wait for the bus to stop completely
- Lower the rack by squeezing the handle
- Lift your bike into the slot and secure the arm over the front tire
- Board the bus and sit near the front if you can
Unloading your bike
- Tell the driver you’ll be removing your bike
- Lower the arm, take your bike off the rack, and fold the rack up if it’s empty
- Move away from the bus before it departs
💡 Tip: Practice using the bike rack at a transit center or watch RTC’s how-to video before your first ride. It makes the process easier and quicker.
