October marks Filipino American Heritage Month, a time to honor the rich history, culture, and contributions of Filipino Americans across the United States. In Clark County, Nevada, this month holds special significance as the community celebrates a monumental milestone: the official unveiling of Filipino Town Las Vegas.
Filipino Americans represent the largest Asian ethnic group in Nevada, making up over 52% of the state’s Asian population. Clark County is home to approximately 178,160 Filipinos, a testament to the community’s growth and influence in the region. This vibrant community has been instrumental in shaping the cultural and economic landscape of Southern Nevada.
A significant development in this journey is the establishment of Filipino Town Las Vegas, a cultural district spanning Maryland Parkway between Flamingo and Desert Inn Roads. Officially approved by the Clark County Commission on April 15, 2025, this district serves as a hub for Filipino culture, celebrating decades of community-building and entrepreneurship.
The grand opening of Filipino Town Las Vegas is set for October 9, 2025, coinciding with Filipino American Heritage Month. The day’s events will include a sign unveiling ceremony at 11 a.m. at The Boulevard Mall, followed by an evening celebration from 5 – 9 p.m. at FilAm Central, offering a full day of festivities to honor Filipino heritage.
At the RTC, we take immense pride in the dedication and contributions of our Filipino American employees across all departments, including Marketing, Customer Service, Transit, and Finance. Their commitment enhances our agency’s mission and strengthens the community we serve.
As we celebrate Filipino American Heritage Month, let us reflect on the resilience, achievements, and enduring spirit of the Filipino community in Clark County. Their story is one of perseverance and pride, enriching the tapestry of Southern Nevada.
