Can I bring a stroller, shopping cart, bike, or pet on the bus?

Strollers

You can bring a stroller, but it must be folded if the bus is crowded:

  • Keep it out of the aisle and away from doors
  • Children must be removed before boarding

Shopping Carts

  • Yes, you can bring a personal shopping cart—as long as it’s small, safe, and doesn’t block the aisle.
  • Carts must be foldable and fit in front of you or under your seat. Oversized carts that take up extra seats, block walkways, or carry hazardous materials are not allowed.

💡 Tip: Fold your cart before boarding when possible. If the bus is crowded, you may be asked to wait for the next one.

Bikes

Most RTC buses have a rack on the front that holds up to two bikes

  • Let the driver know before you load or unload your bike
  • Bikes are not allowed inside the bus

Pets

  • Only service animals are allowed inside the bus without a carrier
  • All other pets must be in a secure carrier that fits on your lap

💡 Tip: Practice using the bike rack ahead of time if you’re new—RTC offers free demos at transit centers.
